What is a Home Inspection?

A professional,  systematic inspection of the conditions of significant, observable, systems of the home, based on current industry standards. Components that are inspected are: roof, exterior, grounds and drainage, ventilation, crawl spaces or basements, electrical, mechanical , interior, and environmental issues upon request.

Who Hires a Home Inspector?

Traditionally, home inspectors are and have been hire buy prospective home buyers. Before purchasing a new build, buyers are having inspections performed to ensure proper building techniques and that all compnonets have been proeprly installed and function.  However, there are growing trends to use home inspection professionals by:

Sellers - To prepare their home for market and to know what their house brings to the negotiating table. This eliminates "surprises" that  a buyers inspector would find.

Home Builders- Are now using inspectors to inspect a new build prior to the final draw. This inspection is used as the "punch" list.
